About Kaye

I am a Chartered Physiotherapist and former Occupational Therapist who specialises in Neuro-rehabilitation. I also works as an aquatic therapist (hydrotherapist) enabling her to offer both a land and pool-based approach to your rehab.
My passion for Neuro-rehabilitation started in 1999 when I worked as an occupational therapy assistant at the Battle Hospital in Reading. Whilst working as an assistant, I embarked on a four- year undergraduate degree graduating from Oxford Brookes University with a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy. After qualifying, I gained clinical experience working in both physical and mental health services, covering in-patient, out-patient, and community-based settings.
In 2009, I undertook MSc (pre-registration) physiotherapy training at Southampton University, during which I completed a qualitative research project, alongside a randomised controlled trail, which explored patients' experiences of standard care or cardiac rehabilitation post minor stroke and transient ischaemic attack. This research has been published in the Clinical Rehabilitation Journal (exploring patients' experiences of standard care or cardiac rehabilitation post minor stroke and transient ischaemic attack - PubMed)
I have worked in the NHS rising to Team Lead for OT and Physio across three community hospitals in Oxfordshire, and more recently as Team Lead Clinical Specialist Physio in Neurology at The Great Western Hospital. I also worked for the charity Headway, and in private practice as a dual therapist. I now work solely as a physiotherapist.
I am passionate about helping people to regain confidence and greater independence whether that be managing a new neurological diagnosis, a long-term condition, or following a fall resulting in reduced mobility and a fear of doing the things that you once loved.
Outside of work I enjoy walking the dog, going to the gym and riding - anything that gets me outdoors and moving!
I have extensive experience and training in both human and veterinary physiotherapy, earning qualifications that include:
-
BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy - Oxford Brookes University
